Salvia apiana is one of the most intensely aromatic plants in North America, with a volatile oil profile dominated by 1,8-cineole (eucalyptol — the primary monoterpene, responsible for the clean, camphoraceous top note), camphor, alpha-thujone and beta-thujone, alpha-pinene, beta-pinene, camphene, borneol, bornyl acetate, linalool, caryophyllene (a sesquiterpene), rosmarinic acid, carnosic acid, carnosol, ursolic acid, flavonoids (luteolin, apigenin, hispidulin), and diterpene compounds characteristic of the Salvia genus. How to Use

Smudging / Incense: Hold the smudge wand at a 45-degree angle and light the tip with a match or lighter; allow to catch flame for 10–20 seconds, then gently blow out the flame so the bundle smolders and produces fragrant smoke. Use a fireproof dish or abalone shell to catch ash. Move the smoldering wand through the space or around objects as desired. Extinguish completely by pressing the lit end firmly into a fireproof dish — never leave unattended. Aromatic: Place dried white sage in sachets, bowls, or aromatic displays for a long-lasting, clean, camphoraceous fragrance.
