Description
Alder Buckthorn bark has been used in traditional European herbal practice for centuries as a botanical laxative. The bark of Rhamnus frangula must be properly aged or heat-treated before use — fresh bark contains harsh anthraquinone precursors that can cause severe irritation. Our buckthorn bark is aged to ensure the conversion of these compounds to their milder, traditional-use form.
