Description

Elderberries – Dried, Certified Organic

(Sambucus nigra)

Elderberries are the small, deep purple-black fruits of Sambucus nigra, the European elder tree — a fast-growing shrub found in hedgerows, woodland edges, and roadsides across Europe, North America, and western Asia. One of the most beloved and historically significant botanicals in both European and North American folk traditions, elderberries have been harvested and used for food, drink, and herbal preparations for thousands of years.

We love elderberry season at Glenbrook Farms — elderberries grow in abundance in Kentucky, and there’s nothing quite like going out to pick them fresh. Our dried Elderberries are Certified Organic and Non-GMO, carefully sourced to ensure quality and purity.

How to Use

Elderberry Syrup: Simmer 1 cup of dried elderberries in 3 cups of water for 30–45 minutes until reduced by half. Strain, cool, and sweeten with honey for a classic homemade elderberry syrup. Jelly & Jam: Cook with sugar and pectin for a rich, deeply flavored elderberry jelly — wonderful on toast, biscuits, and scones. Herbal Tea: Steep 1–2 teaspoons of dried elderberries in 8 oz of hot water for 10–15 minutes for a tart, fruity herbal tea. Wine & Cordials: A traditional ingredient in elderberry wine, cordials, and liqueurs across Europe. Baking: Add to muffins, pies, and crumbles for a bold, tart berry flavor.

Available in 4 oz, 8 oz, and 16 oz sizes — Certified Organic.

These elderberries are great.

I make and sell Elderberry syrup and I have tried cheaper kinds but the taste and quality of these elderberries are the best.

Fragrant and good quality dried elderberries

I have not used them yet (for making syrup) but when I received them, I noticed that I have never experienced such a strong sweet fragrance from dried elderberries. The berries were of good quality and not containing dead and brown berries.

Love the elderberries!

Extremely pleased with everything ordered, as have been a customer for several years. The elderberries are exceptional quality. Use the elderberries frequently for any immune issues that may arise. Highly recommend.
