Oh Berries! Tea
⭐ As featured in Southern Living magazine
A Glenbrook Farms bestseller — and for good reason. Southern Living magazine featured Oh Berries! after their editor discovered it and loved it enough to write about it. One sip and you’ll understand why.
This is a deeply fruity, vivid, naturally caffeine-free berry blend built around five of the most anthocyanin-rich botanicals in the world — elderberry, bilberry, American blueberry, black currant, and hibiscus — rounded with sweet apple pieces. The color is a spectacular deep ruby-purple. The flavor is bold, tart, and intensely berry-forward. Exceptional hot, and absolutely outstanding as an iced tea. A perennial favorite with children and adults alike.
Ingredients: Elderberry (Sambucus nigra), Hibiscus Flowers (Hibiscus sabdariffa), Bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus), American Blueberries (Vaccinium corymbosum), Apple Pieces, Black Currant (Ribes nigrum). Naturally caffeine-free.
Key Botanicals
- Elderberry (Sambucus nigra) — the dark purple berries of the European elder tree, one of the most widely used botanical berries in European herbal tradition; rich in anthocyanins (primarily cyanidin-3-glucoside and cyanidin-3-sambubioside), quercetin, rutin, kaempferol, chlorogenic acid, vitamin C, and dietary fiber
- Bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus) — the wild bilberry of European forests and heathlands, smaller and more intensely flavored than the American highbush blueberry; contains an exceptionally high concentration of anthocyanins including myrtillin (the characteristic anthocyanin of bilberry), along with quercetin, catechins, tannins, caffeic acid, and vitamin C; used in European botanical tradition since the Middle Ages
- American Blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum) — the highbush blueberry native to eastern North America; rich in anthocyanins (delphinidin, cyanidin, petunidin, peonidin, and malvidin glycosides), pterostilbene, resveratrol, quercetin, chlorogenic acid, vitamin C, vitamin K, and manganese
- Black Currant (Ribes nigrum) — one of the richest European sources of vitamin C (gram for gram, significantly higher than oranges) and anthocyanins (primarily cyanidin-3-glucoside, cyanidin-3-rutinoside, delphinidin-3-glucoside, and delphinidin-3-rutinoside); also contains quercetin, myricetin, kaempferol, gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), potassium, calcium, iron, and manganese
- Hibiscus Flowers (Hibiscus sabdariffa) — the dried calyces of the roselle plant; responsible for the tea’s vivid ruby color and characteristic tart, cranberry-like flavor; rich in anthocyanins, hibiscus acid, citric acid, malic acid, quercetin, luteolin, and vitamin C
