Cleavers

(Galium aparine)

If you’ve ever walked through a field in early spring and come back with tiny, sticky seeds clinging to your socks and pants, you’ve already met Cleavers. Galium aparine — also known as goosegrass, sticky willy, or bedstraw — is one of the first wild plants to emerge each spring, carpeting hedgerows and woodland edges with its cheerful, clinging stems. Despite its reputation as a persistent garden weed, Cleavers has a long and respected history in European and North American folk herbalism, where it has been used for centuries as a traditional spring botanical.

At Glenbrook Farms, we offer Cleavers in both Cut & Sifted and Powder forms for use in teas, tinctures, and herbal formulations. Our herbs are tested for E. coli, Salmonella, and heavy metals, and are packed in our FDA-registered facility following strict quality guidelines.
