Description

This is the story of Yarrow....

Yarrow has been collected from fields and hedgerows from around this planet since the time of Dr. Pedanious Dioscorides of the first century AD. Back then it was known as "Soldier's Woundwort" because this herb was packed into battle wounds to facilitate healing. The Ancients kept Yarrow in the temples for revered ceremonies because they believed that it was a conductor of benevolent powers to defeat evil.

Now traveling through time to the Middle Ages, this herb was a staple in most gardens. A cup of this herb tea was offered to those suffering from a cold, flu, fever or a headache.

Now let's forward to today... It is recommended not to take yarrow if you are taking a blood thinner.

Recipe: Yarrow Toner

It's so easy to make this facial toner to help clean the skin and tighten the pores. The cool spray is so refreshing. According to the International Journal of Cosmetic Science applying  this herb in an extract form can help reduce the appearance of wrinkles even better than glycolic acid. Now that's good news! You can eliminate even more chemicals and toxins from your life.

Boil one cup of water, add 3 teaspoons of dried yarrow to the water.

Let this steep for 15-20 minutes then strain the herb from the water.  When the brew is cool add 2 tablespoons of with hazel ( this can be found in the Witch Hazel section)  Pour into a bottle  with a sprayer. This solution will keep in the refrigerator for 25-30  days. You can also add some aloe juice if you have been in the sun to help restore hydration to the skin.  Spray  your face or spray a cotton ball to apply to your face. There you have easy Yarrow Toner.
